Philosophy & Background
Philosophy: Every Artifact is crafted to sound good, look good and make you inspired to play. They come in limited runs and are based on classic fuzz circuits. They are put together with a Frankenstein approach using NOS (New Old Stock), recycled (up-cycled if you ask me) and some new components. Every Artifact will have scratch and scars, the paint can have a swirl and no two pedals are alike. To me this is a good thing. Artifacts are made to be used and abused, and will hopefully be cherished relics one day.
Artifact No021 - Cave Face. Based on the beautiful simplicity of the classic Fuzz Face circuit. Made even more primitive with only one knob and a switch for cave mode (broken speaker fuzz).
Background: Artifact was founded 2020 during the boredom of the Covid pandemic. In the time void created when concerts and random get-togethers were canceled pedal making became a rabbit hole of electric endeavours. An interest for up-cycling old stuff, combined with resurrecting old schematics became the perfect escape for a musician trapped in the body of a designer.
